Where To Locate How Much I Make on YouTube Adsense Partnership Program

Finding your Adsense earnings through the YouTube Partnership program is pretty easy to do but like many things easy on your computer, the navigation path is not all that easy.  Regardless if you want to find out how much you are making on YouTube via the partner program, you have come to the right place. I'll even include a brief video you You Tube to show you how.

If you are not on the Google Adsense program and you are not a YouTube partner, this will not apply to you as you would not currently be able to earn on YouTube. There are other resources out there that will help you to set up an make money on Adsense.

So to in order to find the money you are making on YouTube via Adsense partner just do the following

Step 1

Log into your YouTube account

Step 2

Click on your icon photo in the top right corner of the Youtube screen

Step 3

Click on the setting button which appears as a sprocket

Step 4

New window/screen opens and click on "View Additional Features" toward the bottom left within this window.

Step 5

Click on "Analytics" in the left column of the screen

Step 6

The down under the "Performance" section you will see your YouTube earning statistics / metrics in the form of minutes watched, amount of views and importantly how much you have earned. There  is a date just above all of this that shows you the range. Mine is set for showing one month of statistics / earnings but you can change that if you want a specific date range.

Add a Google Privacy Statement to WordPress WP Theme

Get That Policy Statement On Your Site

We'll I'll admit, I am not a Google Adsense terms of service (TOS) guru, nor am a a WordPress expert yet either.  I am still a work in process.  I've been using service hosted sites like Blogger, Hubpages, Squidoo, etc for years and decided to go the self-hosted route with a WordPress.Org site of my own  (ThingsToDoNearNorristown.Com).

Every so often I'll hear people warn others who have created a self-hosted (via BlueHost, DreamHost, etc) that a privacy statement should be added if you want to show Google Adsense ads on your site.  This statement generally talks about the use of cookies, double click, affiliate ads, etc and the effect they will have on your visitor's PCs. It is necessary to remain compliant with Google Adsense advertising (publisher) policy.  Check Google Adsense TOS from time to time for changes.

The way I complied with this adsense rule was to create my own Privacy Page on the Word Press theme associated with my site.  It was pretty easy to do but, dopey that I am, not that easy to figure out.  Once I learned how to add a privacy page to my WP site though, it was pretty easy.

Again, I'm not a Google TOS expert but hopefully this will get you started. If you think I'm missing anything here or if I am saying something wrong, please comment below and I'll look into your advice.

So here are the Steps I followed:

Step 1 - Find a Google Privacy Policy Plug-In For Word Press

I am quite certain there are websites out there that can create a policy statement custom for you without the need to install a plug-in, but since WP plug-ins are what WP is all about, why not try the plug in?

Download the plug in and activate it.  I used the "Google Privacy Policy" plug in but feel free to choose one that better suits you and the needs of your site.  Other Privacy statement plug ins might respond differently but I suspect they are generally the same as I describe below.

Step 2 - Settings

Click on "Settings" on your WordPress control panel

Step 3 - Google Privacy Policy

In the menu that appears you should see "Google Privacy Policy" or some derivative name of the whatever plug in you chose to install and activate.

Step 4 - Copy What They Tell You

There should be something on the screen that appears that stays Policy Statement or Google Text or something like that.  In or around that title there should be a code (or text) that you can copy and paste.  

Step 5 - Create a New Page

Now make yourself a Privacy Policy page.  On your Wordpress control panel click "Pages", then "Add New" 

Step 6 - Keep Creating The Page

For the title of the page use "Policy Statement" or "Privacy Policy" etc 

Step 7 - Paste It

In the body of the page, click on the tab that takes you to the code (where you'd enter HTML stuff etc, not where you typically do your 'normal' typing).    Paste that thing you copied in Step 4 in this area of the page.  (If you want to learn more about making a page click here and I'll also have a link at the end of this post)

Step 8 - Nothing Happend When I Pasted Privacy Statement Code!!!

The Privacy statment text might not appear while you are in the edit mode of this new page you created.  To prove that this actually works, save the new page you created.  Then open up your website in a new tab (not as the admin but as if you were a normal, random user googling your website) and refresh the screen.

Your privacy statement, based on the verbage the plug in provided, will appear.

Step 9 - I am Not an Attorney and No Trying To Dictate What Is Right For You

I'm not a contract expert, legal expert, I know nothing of your site and don't pretend to. This is important... read the text that the plug in provides and determine if this is right for your site.  For example, I also intend to add Amazon Affiliate ads to my site one day and my Google statement mentions nothing about this so I added a line stating I might make money off affliate ads, blah, blah, blah.     Your site might be different from mine and I can't tell you if the verbage is right but read it and see how it feels to you and how it compares to the current Google Adsense rules, etc.

Add Page or Pages To WordPress Theme

Creating a static page in WordPress is pretty easy to do.  Once you create a new page though, it won't just automatically add itself into your WordPress website theme. It isn't the same as when you publish a new post and it is instantly available for you readers to see on your theme. Even when you publish the page it won't appear by default on your webpage / theme.  

There are a couple real easy steps you'll need to take to get your new static page or pages onto your theme to that viewers can see it.

Here are a few easy steps after you have created your page.

Step 1

Go to your control panel on WordPress

Step 2

Go to "Appearance" and "Themes"

Step 3

Find the theme you have installed under the manage themes tab  (actually you'll probably see your theme before you see the tab).   Click on "Widgets"

Step 4

Look in the "Available Widgets" section and find the one that says "Pages"

Got it?  OK, now click on the "Pages" widget and drag it out of the available widgets section and put it where you want in your theme (ie sidebar one, sidebar two, etc)

Step 5

Now if you look at your site you'll see your page. If you aren't seeing it, just refresh the screen and it should appear.

Tools Missing on Blogger Tool Bar ?

If you begin to write a post on your Blogger blog and find that there are tools missing from the tool bar don't fret. You might be missing the text color, highlight colors, bullets, alignment etc. 

If you notice that a ton of those buttons are missing and only your bold, italic, abc with line throught it, etc you are simply on the wrong tab.

On Blogger, you can compose an article on the "compose" tab, which shows you the text as you see it here right now, or you can use the "Edit HTML" tab, which will show you everything in HTML code.  If you are missing much of the tools it is likely because you are in the "Edit HTML" mode instead of "Compose"

To fix this, simply look to the top right corner and click the "Compose" tab and all of the missing buttons will appear again.

URL Error On Squidoo Title Your Page - Zowee How to Fix

Are you getting a message like this on Squidoo "Zowee! URLs can only consist of letters, numbers, underscores, and dashes. You enter everything after www.squidoo.com/. Nothing fancy now, okay? "

If you have not tried entering anything fancy on the URL it is quite possible that there is a space after the URL that Squidoo does not recognize.  In other words, there is a space typed in after the end of the web address.

To fix, follow these steps

1. Check to see if there is a space entered at the end of the URL.

2. If there is a space, delete it

3. If there is not a space AND you entered the URL via a click and paste, then 1) Delete the URL 2) Paste again and look where your cursor is. Likely there is a space between the cursor and the end of the URL. Delete this space by hitting "Delete" on your keyboard once (while the curson is to the right of the space 3) Then try to 'continue'

That's it! I hpe that helps you to stop the URL error on Squidoo's title page.

Squidoo Article Lens Module Locks Up Freezes

If you work on Squidoo long enough you are bound to have a lens module lock up or freeze on the screen while creating a new article.  Basically you'll be editing a module and you'll find that you can not enter any more text, photos or anything.  You won't even be able to get the cursor to appear in the fields when you click on the module.

This is frustrating, especially the first couple times it happened to me.  I got frustrated and felt I had to close out of Squidoo then reopen. The result was that I either lost half or more of the lens / article I already typed or I lost the whole thing completely save for maybe the title.

Instead of giving up and closing down squidoo or your browser entirely, simply open a new tab on your browser. Then open Squidoo up in that tab.  Then go to your dashboard and find your work in progress article and finish typing.  Chances are the 'old' tab you were working in will remain locked up but the new one you opened will allow you to unlock or unfreeze the article / lens and complete your work.

If you have a PayPal account and offer things for sale on sites such as Ebay or perhaps your own website the day may come when you need to issue a refund to a customer on PayPal. Please read on to learn how to Send a Refund on PayPal

     Log in to your PayPal account

     A page will appear showing your recent activity. See if the transaction you wish to issue a refund to is on this page. If it is, click DETAILS. If it isn't, then click on PAYMENTS RECEIVED link just above the recent activity transactions and then click DETAILS on transaction you want to refund.

     This is probably the trickiest and least user-friendly part of PayPal refunds. A page will appear showing details of your transaction. Scroll down the page until you get to the bottom....

     Then click on ISSUE REFUND. Don't worry.... if you only want to issue a partial refund, you'll be able to do so after clicking ISSUE REFUND. No money is returned at this point.
   • 5
     Another PayPal page appears called "Issue Refund". If you only want to issue a partial refund, click in the box titled refund amount and change it to the amount you want to refund.

     If you want to return all money to the buyer, you don't have to touch this box at all, just leave the full refund amount in there.

     If you wish to leave a note such as, "Hi! Here's the money I owe you for damaged products." etc do so in the Note to Buyer (optional) box. You don't have to enter anything here. It is up to you.

     Click continue

     A page appears on your PC monitor that allows you one last chance to review and edit this money back transaction. If you need to edit, click the EDIT button, if not, click ISSUE REFUND. If you want to cancel all together sending any money click CANCEL.

Friendly Way to Drive Traffic to a Web Site Without Spamming

SheToldMe (aka She Told Me ) Since Google Algorithm Panda Change 2011

I thought I would do a very brief article on my experience with SheToldMe since the Google algorithm change (aka Panda) that took place in 2011.

At least as of the date of this post, a lot of my Adsense earnings were reduced since the change.  In some cases I am now only making pennies on sites where I was making dollars prior to the changes.

Some sites though have held up pretty well.  I was pleasantly surprised to see that my SheToldMe account is still earning some Adsense revenue.  I don't think the earnings are quite as consistent as before, but the overall earnings are about the same.  Prior to Google's changes I was making a small amount every day. Since the changes, I might not make something every single day, but when I do get paid, I am seeing enough income to make up for the days when there are little to no earnings.  That might not have anything to do with the changes Google made though. It could just be the ebb and flow of traffic.  Regardless, I'm still making money.
I am still seeing a decent amount of traffic directed from She Told Me to my other posts on different sites as well.  This is exactly what I hoped for with SheTold Me.  It is a great site for easily bookmarking / backlinking and driving traffic to other sites.

Overall, I am pleased that She Told Me seems to be holding up fine in spite of the recent changes.  At least with regards to my account.

Is Snipsly Working ? Can You See Snipsly's Page Views? Learn How Here

I have posted a ton of posts on Snipsly.  I can't say I've earned much in Adsense revenue on Sniply so I was wondering if it was worth to continue posting.

The first thing I asked myself was whether I am actually getting any page views on Snipsly.  I struggled to find a way to track the amount of visits to my posts so I wasn't sure if Snipsly was working or not.   I contacted the website and they got back to me and told me what to do.

Basically, you want to add Snipsly to your Google Analytics account.  When I did this I was relieved to find that I was getting page views and some of my backlinks were working and feeding traffic to other sites my posts are on.  I suppose the site works after all :-)  Not much Google revenue and a minimal amount of traffic, but I am getting some.

You Can Not Bookmark Your Own Article Blog Posts On Xomba

First, I want to start off by saying that Xomba is a really great site.  It doesn't have the more sleek look of a Hubpages but it is a cool site to read great articles and bookmarks.  It is a great site to write for as well.

That said, the last thing you want to do on Xomba, at least as of the date of this article (2011), is to bookmark your own article posts.  If you are writing articles on a 'get paid to write' platform or have your own personal blog, Xomba does not want you self promoting your own work via bookmarks.

I'm not entirely sure if this is because Xomba is being overrun with self promotion and they want to clean up their act, or if they know something (such as a penalty) in the works with the new Google algorithm that was recently released.

Simply put, if you write an article, just like the one I'm writing right now, and you bookmark it under your Xomba account, you are at risk of having your account suspended.  That said, as of the date of this article, it is all right to bookmark the work of other people if you genuinely believe that people will find it interesting and your summary supports the article with original content.  Original content is not just repeating what is in the article. For example if you were to bookmark this article (which, by the way, I'd love you for doing so,) you could not just write in your summary, "This is an article explains that Xomba no longer allows you to bookmark your own work...." etc. etc.
