Finding your Adsense earnings through the YouTube Partnership program is pretty easy to do but like many things easy on your computer, the navigation path is not all that easy.  Regardless if you want to find out how much you are making on YouTube via the partner program, you have come to the right place. I'll even include a brief video you You Tube to show you how.

If you are not on the Google Adsense program and you are not a YouTube partner, this will not apply to you as you would not currently be able to earn on YouTube. There are other resources out there that will help you to set up an make money on Adsense.

So to in order to find the money you are making on YouTube via Adsense partner just do the following

Step 1

Log into your YouTube account

Step 2

Click on your icon photo in the top right corner of the Youtube screen

Step 3

Click on the setting button which appears as a sprocket

Step 4

New window/screen opens and click on "View Additional Features" toward the bottom left within this window.

Step 5

Click on "Analytics" in the left column of the screen

Step 6

The down under the "Performance" section you will see your YouTube earning statistics / metrics in the form of minutes watched, amount of views and importantly how much you have earned. Who Else Manufactures White Hooded Elastic Cuff Clean Up Suits

Some industries are dominated by one or two corporations. Other industries have tons of competition. Sometimes it is presumed that only one manufacturer makes a certain item but it really isn't true. I've run into cases where I am so accustomed to purchasing a specific brand of product that I presume that it is the only product made out there. If you want to be an informed buyer, do not let yourself simply assume that there is only one factory out there making this stuff. This is especially true in the speciality garment industry. I've been purchasing those white, hooded suits that you might be accustomed to seeing at a clean up site or certain construction sites. These are the white protective suits that have the hood, elastic wrists, elastic ankles all white that you put on to keep yourself clean.

There are other competiting interests and I wrote a post about two of them. Check it out. Post is linked below:

How to Check Test Quality of Poly Coveralls

If you are using those white spunbound polyethylene coveralls at some point you might be considering buying another brand. Maybe you want to check the quality of other coveralls or maybe you want to do a cost comparison in hopes of saving money. Whether you are considering Alpha Guard, Alpha Pro Tech (same as Alpha Guard), Dupont Tyvek, 3M or other brands and manufacturers, you'll definitely want to do a comparison test of your current coverall versus the new brand you are considering buying.

So, how do you test the quality of white polyethylene coveralls? This is a hard question to answer as your company might use those white Tyvek or Tyvek-like coveralls in a different manner than the company I work for does.

Some wear polyethylene coveralls to protect clothing and skin from debris and other splatter (maintenance, site clean up, construction workers, etc). Others wear poly coveralls in a more clean room (or clean room-esque) environment where they want to avoid having any lint, strings from clothes, hair, etc fall off the person and into the product (food process workers, pharmaceuticals, etc)

So how do you test a potentially new brand of coverall? Well, first, let's presume you need the same style. For the sake of this article, we are talking serged seamed, spunbound, white, polyethylene coveralls that have elastic wrists and cuffs as well as a hood that fits via elastic snug around face.

Second, as a disclaimer, I can't say for sure this test method will work the same way for you. The way I test does not include any worry about hazardous chemicals or other hazard debris since we don't use any. If you are using dangerous chemicals or debris that can cause harm to a person, consult an available safety expert (your plant safety officer or contact manufacturer directly for advise). This person will likely ask for some sort of chemical comparability testing that I can not inform you on.

The only use I have for the coveralls is in an industrial environment where non hazardous inks might come in contact with our employees. We wear the coveralls to help them keep clean and to also help prevent any skin, hair, threads, etc from falling into the product.

Here are a couple of thoughts on how I compare two competitive coveralls to see if they are of equivalent quality

1. Take one of each kind of coverall and lay them side by side. Do they look to be the same size that you are already accustomed too?

2. Take your current coverall and try to tear it and note how easily it tears. You might want to try puncturing it too with your finger for example and note how easily it tears. Repeat the same step with the potential new coverall.

3. Look at the seams of each coverall. Do the appear sewn together well?

4. Look for loose threads. This is a big factor depending on what kind of business you are in. If the risk of a loose thread getting into your product is a big deal, check carefully. Some coverall manufacturers leave threads hanging on every product, others keep it pretty clean and tight with no threads.

5. Check the elastic wrists and ankles. Do they seem to be sewn well. Some makers do this part more sloppy with hanging threads and the end of the elastic hangs loose as well. Others are more tight.

6. Check for fit. Have your employees wear them. Are they easier or harder to put on? Get off? Do they fit well or too tight/loose? Do the elastic bands fit too snug or, worse, not snug at all?

7. Temperature. Also find out if the new coverall is too hot to wear. You'll always get real hot in a coverall but some are much worse (less breathable) than others. Take note of this as well.
I hope that helps. If you are one of the many users of Tyvek coveralls here is a brand that competes with Dupont Tyvek Coveralls.  Check it out as this might give you another option to look at to save money or improve performance on coveralls.

Add Page or Pages To WordPress Theme

Creating a static page in WordPress is pretty easy to do.  Once you create a new page though, it won't just automatically add itself into your WordPress website theme. It isn't the same as when you publish a new post and it is instantly available for you readers to see on your theme. Even when you publish the page it won't appear by default on your webpage / theme.

There are a couple real easy steps you'll need to take to get your new static page or pages onto your theme to that viewers can see it.

Here are a few easy steps after you have created your page.

Step 1

Go to your control panel on WordPress

Step 2

Go to "Appearance" and "Themes"

Step 3

Find the theme you have installed under the manage themes tab  (actually you'll probably see your theme before you see the tab).   Click on "Widgets"

Step 4

Look in the "Available Widgets" section and find the one that says "Pages"

Got it?  OK, now click on the "Pages" widget and drag it out of the available widgets section and put it where you want in your theme (ie sidebar one, sidebar two, etc)

Step 5

Now if you look at your site you'll see your page. If you aren't seeing it, just refresh the screen and it should appear.

I hope that helps!

PSD Locked / Mail Machine - Maybe Server Phone Issue? Fix Here

Are you having trouble clearing a PSD locked message on your mail machine?  There is a solution to removing the PSD locked by clicking this link.

That solution does not work 100% of the time though and I'll admit, I'm just talking about my limited experience with this happening with one of our machines.

Every so many days an electronic postal audit automatically occurs where your machine and the server try to connect.  If they can not connect, then the postal audit can not complete and your machine gets locked.  I suspect this is for some sort of security reason but I'm not sure.

If the above link I gave you does not work, and I highly, highly, highly, suggest you try that first, the the next solution might fix your problem.

I'll warn you, this solution only works a very small percentage of the time and you'll need to contact your mail machine equipment provider / supplier first for some information but let's try it.

Each machine is different as well so this might not work for you step by step but should be close.

This solution to PSD locked presumes or suspects that your machine is connecting to a wrong number or a number connecting to a server that has changed.  It also presumes you are using a machine connected via analog phone line versus the more popular and probably better LAN connection.

So if you are daring, have an analog phone connection and you feel the number is wrong (I'll show you how to check that) keep reading.  Don't blame me if this doesn't work though its worth a try.  All advise here I emphasis you should check with your equipment provider first. I'm not a pro at this, I'm just experienced with this specific problem. Rest is at your own risk :-)

Step 1

Again, make sure you've tried the link I gave you above. If that doesn't work.....

Contact the manufacturer or supplier of your postal equipment. Find out what the proper server number (phone number) is that connects your equipment to the US Post office site.

Step 2

While on the phone with these guys, get the code you will need to do this process.  Heck, while you have them on the phone, make sure this whole process I'm giving you now sounds right to them. Each problem is unique and this only solves certain issues.

Step 3

When you get off the phone with them, hang up, then dial the number they give you. It should respond with a fax machine sound. If you aren't hearing this, there is something wrong with the number. Stop everything and call them back and tell them what you heard.

Step 4

Go to your mail machine / meter.  Press the "Menu" button

Step 5

Go into Supervisor mode (on my equipment this is #13)

Step 6

Enter code that they gave you on the phone

Step 7

Postal access press OK

Step 8

You'll have a choice between modem or LAN option. If you are using an analog phone line select modem option  (LAN is for Internet connection)

Step 9

When in the modem settings you should see the phone number the machine is trying to connect to. Couple thoughts on this

a) Try calling it on a phone for the heck of it to see if it is responding with that "fax" sound. If so, the line is good.  If it is the same number the supplier gave you, there is nothing to change. This troubleshooting method won't work.

If it is different......

b) Go ahead and overwrite this number and make it the new number for the equipment

Enter the number and try again. You might need to unlock the equipment using the link I provided above or just start it up and go.

Again.... this won't work for everyone. It is for a very specific problem. Ultimately it is up to you to try this or not.  Just remember what you did or else you'll risk a service call which can be costly if the tech has to sit there an determine what you did the equipment.

Compacting Regaining Memory After Deleting On Lotus

OK, you are working on Lotus Notes and your email memory is completely full. That is, if you don't start deleting emails you won't be able to save sent mail, store new appointments, etc.  You delete enough email so that you are that you are now below the maximum mb / gb threshold (learn to tell how many more emails you need to delete here) but you still can't save anything.

This post will teach you how to compact and regain memory after deleting on Lotus Notes.  If you don't have the rights to do this assigned to you by your IT department you won't be able to do this.  That said, these steps will show you what to do and, in addition, help you determine if you have rights to file compacting or not.

Step 1
Click on FILE in the top left corner of Lotus Notes. The drop down menu will then be visible
.
Step 2
In the drop down menu, put your cursor over the word DATABASE. To the right a menu will appear.

Step 3
Click on the word PROPERTIES on this menu

Step 4
A “Database” window will pop up. You’ll see a row of little tabs. Click on the lower case “i”tab

Step 5
Just under the “i” tab, you’ll see“Disk space” . Just under “Disk Space” you’ll see “Documents” Do you see it?

Step 6
Next to “Documents” you’ll see a “Compact”button. Click that button. If your button is not visible or if it is and cannot be clicked then you need to contact your IT help desk. As mentioned above, you might not be allowed to compact your own mail depending on your IT department's computer policies.

I hope that helped you with Compacting Regaining Memory After Deleting On Lotus

Here's post that is directly related to this article. You should read it before you are all set to leave on vacation. It explains why you might not be able to turn on your vacation message on Lotus Notes (click here).  Don 't wait until you are ready to escape the office and find out you can't because Lotus isn't setting your away message up. You can fix it yourself no problem.

How to Tell How Much More Lotus Notes Email Memory to Delete

Once you start getting that memory warning message on Lotus Notes mail you will want to start deleting as many pesky emails as possible starting with the mail / files that take up the most gbs. You need to do this until you are under the memory threshold again. If you don’t, you won’t be able to save ‘sent’ emails, update your calendar, enable / disable features etc. on Lotus Notes.

The question that comes up of course is how many emails exactly do I need to delete? Or, put another way, how many GBs do I need to recover on Lotus so that I can start saving mail and using features again?

Checking to see how much more memory you need to recover is easy to do but it isn’t very intuitive. You might not be able to find it on your own. I can show you how to figure this out here.

I did notice that this did not work quite as smoothly when I migrated to Lotus Notes 8.5. Scroll down further if you don't find what you are looking for here:

Step 1
Go to FILE in the upper left corner of Lotus. A drop down menu will appear.

Step 2
In the drop down menu, hover your cursor over DATABASE. When you do this a side menu will appear to the right.

Step 3
Click on PROPERTIES on the side menu

Lotus Notes Out of Office Message Won't Disable or Enable

If you are trying to go away on vacation  or leave the office for an extended period of time with no access to email, you will definitely want to enable your away message on Lotus Notes Mail to indicate you are not available via email. Here's a post to learn how to put your out of message on if you don't know how.

Conversely if yo have returned to the office you want to be sure you disable your out of office message so that people know you are back.

Let's make sure you are disabling properly before we look at another way to fix your problem. To Disable, first be sure you are in any screen that allows the “Tools” button to show in the top right corner of your Lotus Notes screen (inbox, send, junk mail, trash, etc views will all allow you to see the “Tools” button)Click the “Tools” button

What You Need for Domestic LTL Truck Shipment Quote

So you want to have the right information ready to go when asking a trucking company or other carrier service for a rate quote?

Look, I'll be honest, I'm not a logistics expert but I do know a bit about getting a price for transportation of goods within the United States. This process really does not apply to international shipments worldwide. Overseas exports and imports require additional information for transport that I won't include here.

Also, this is best suited for domestic (USA) LTL (less than truckload) shipments using common carrier trucking service.

Some transport services need more information, some need less, some need more specific information than I detail here. They will talk you through this process if this doesn't give you everything you need. That said, if you have this information below, you'll be off to a good start. Check with your preferred carrier or third party logistics company and if there is some other freight information they need they'll tell you.

These are the things at a minimum your carrier will want to know when you ask them to quote what it will cost you to ship goods via truck.

1. The address the goods are shipping from (typically they just need origin zip code)

2. The destination the goods are shipping to (typically they just need the destination zip code)

3. The gross weight of your shipment

Four 4 Roll Wagon Wheel Toilet Paper Dispenser Good and Bad

Four (4) roll wagon wheel (turnstile) toilet paper dispensers are typically found in heavily used, high traffic bathrooms such as in the work place, restaurants, public bathrooms, etc

These dispensers are round and mounted to the side of the stall. When fully loaded the dispenser can hold up to four rolls of toilet tissue. When a roll runs out, the user can rotate the handle in the center counter clockwise until the nex
t full roll appears in the opening at the bottom.

Advantages of 4 Roll Wagon Wheel Toilet Paper Holders

One big advantage of the wagon wheel style is that is eliminates waste. Other kinds of dispensers (think of a style more similar to what you have in your bathroom at home) seem to encourage changing out rolls before they are completely used up. On non-wagon wheel dispensers, Custodial / janitorial staff might see a roll that has only 10% or 20% of the paper remaining on it and they’ll replace it right away with a new roll. Why? Because they figure it will run out soon enough anyway so may as well do it now before it runs empty. With the four roll wagon wheel, janitors are more likely to just change out the empty rolls. There are four rolls available after all so if one suddenly runs out, the other rolls are available for people to use right away.

Another advantage of this wagon wheel style is that you can usually get them for free. That is, janitorial supply companies will be glad to give them to you for nothing as long as you agree to buy their toilet paper. They can ensure that you only buy their bathroom tissue because only one kind of toilet paper will fit in the wagon wheel and that is their own, custom-sized brand. More on cornering you into one size next.

Major Disadvantage of Wagon Wheel / Turnstile Dispensers

The biggest disadvantage of wagon wheel dispensers is that it will be hard for you to bargain shop for toilet paper. The reason for this is typically only one size toilet paper roll will fit in these dispensers. You see, companies that provide these dispensers also want you to buy their toilet paper. Toilet paper can get really expensive as case after case used in public areas gets used up. This is where they make their money. If you can only buy their size it is guaranteed revenue.

The wagon wheel dispensers that I am

familiar with have a really thick diameter stem that toilet paper roll

core (that brown tube in the center of the roll) goes over. Normal store bought paper has a core that is too small to fit on the stem. Janitorial supply companies that provide these four roll turnstile dispensers for free also make sure to supply toilet paper direct from manufacturers using their own custom specifications. These custom sizes are the only sizes that will fit in these dispensers.

Before Installing The Turnstile Wagon Wheel Dispensers….

Check the size and find out what paper will fit inside. Will it only fit one kind of roll? What is the price of this specific sized roll compared to other paper you buy?

Consider this closely. There is nothing wrong with buying the turnstile version. It will cut down on waste, require less frequent loading and, if you play your cards right, you’ll get it for free. That said, will it be worth the cost of paper?

I hope this helps... please check out my other Bathroom Post

Make Copy While Someone Else is Printing on Kyocera Copier

If someone is printing a long run of pages from a Kyocera copier you can still make your own copy. You don't need to sit there and wait for the other person's copies to stop printing. You stop their copies, print your own, then start theirs up again where things left off. It is really easy to do.

We use a Kyocera Taskalfa 400 ci copy machine but this probably works on other versions too.
Step 1
While the other user's copies are printing, place your pages in the paper chute as you normally do.
Step 2
Then look for the 'interrupt' button which on our unit is located just to the upper right of the display screen.

Press the 'interrupt' button

Step 3
The LED (that tiny light) on the 'interrupt' button will light up. The screen on the copier will say "Please Wait Interrupting..... "

I usually just wait until the other person's copies stop coming out.
Step 4
With you papers already in the chute, hit the start button. Your copies will print. They should come out on a separate tray than the other copies.

Step 5
Remove your copies and originals. Then hit the 'interrupt' button again (the LED will go off)

The other user's pages will begin to print again from the same spot they left off.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this helps.  If you ever work with PDF files (creating, copying, printing etc) you might not be aware that you can type notes right on without it being an interactive form. You can print out the file with these comments or simply save it. I wrote a post on this and linked it here. Click Here to Add Comment Notes to Your PDFs

Review of Staples Advantage Service

Introduction

Staples Advantage (formerly Stapleslink.com) is a business to business office supply company that offers just about anything you can imagine for work. It differs from Staples.com and Staples stores in that it is driven for the corporate customer and not the consumer.

For the record, I buy from Staples Advantage for my company. We are a significant customer in that we purchase thousands of dollars per month worth of office supplies. Who knows? Maybe smaller accounts get worse service? I'll at least give you my experience:

Delivery

Delivery comes every day on a Staples truck. It is very reliable. Stock items show up within one day, two at the most. I work in a major metropolitan area so maybe our proximity to their warehouses are better than those is more remote areas. Delivery is important. Make sure you determine delivery costs if any (mine is free) and delivery times before signing your company up.

The Website

The Web site is very easy to use. I 'manage' the website internally here at work. You can make yourself the sole buyer for the account or, for more decentralized buying, you can set up multiple users. You can also control their spending limits, what department (accounting codes) they have rights to and you can cancel their buying privileges.

The site offers various reports that you can run to analyze your spend and your users. Check with Staples Link before signing up to see what reports will be available to you. While I like the idea of running reports, I don't run them very often. I think they come out with a little too much information and it never seems quite organized the way I want it. That said, I could probably remedy this through their technical support. I just haven't tried.

Technical Support and Customer Service

Both IT support on the site and customer service is very responsive though I rarely call. Most of the work I do is directly on their site. When I do make a call the issue is resolved 99% of the time during that same phone call.

Sales Representative

I'm not sure if all business advantage or national accounts qualify for a salesperson that gives your account personal attention. I've had decent success with our sales rep. Sometimes response time is slow (within a few days) but the sales rep is on the road a lot and travel and face to face meetings elsewhere may delay response time.
If you a person who needs most information on an urgent level, make this clear up front. Overall, I don't push the issue though. If I'm desperate I pester until I get an answer. If it can wait, I'll wait the few days or so.

Product Selection

Product selection is huge and I rarely find anything that is not in stock. Stationary, electronics, coffee, water, furniture, janitorial, very diverse product line.

Prices

Very competitive. I did another article on why Stapleslink.com prices are sometimes worse than Staples.com and Staple stores. That said, my prices are good. My volume, as mentioned above, is there as well so perhaps I'm able to leverage product costs easier than smaller accounts. Then again, larger accounts might have better pricing that me :-)

You are more than welcome to negotiate with your sale rep. I am able to run a usage report on all the goods I buy from Staples (I often just ask our account representative to do this for me). Then I bring the rep in and we see if we can improve price on the top selling items.

Typically, we'll put the negotiated, top selling item price 'under contact'. 'Under Contract' is noted next to contract items on the website. This helps steer other buyers on your account toward the lowest negotiated cost items.

Invoicing

Invoicing and accounting documentation comes through very timely. Data is very detailed and well organized.

To Sum Up

Overall I like the StaplesLink / Staples Advantage experience. Good company.

To Be Fair

To be fair, I have not used other competition such as Office Max, etc. They might be really great and I'd highly suggest bringing in as much competition as possible before committing to an on line office supply service.

How to Allow Another User to Delete Users on StaplesAdvantage.com

How to Give Someone a New Approver on StaplesAdvantage

2/2/12

Change Staples Advantage Approver

Depending on a  user’s profile settings they might need a certain supervisor / approver to approve their purchases all the time or approve when they try to buy something over their spending limits.

If the wrong person is approving your purchases you can ask your site administrator or whoever has rights to change your profile to modify who your supervisor is.  You might be able to do this yourself if your profile is set up to allow you to make changes to your own account.

If you are able to make these changes, or if you want to find out, try these steps:

Step 1

Log into your Stapleslink / Staples Advantage account

Step 2

See  “My Account” somewhere close to the top of the screen? Just put your cursor on top of it. Don’t click, just hover it over.

Step 3

Select (click) “Manage Users” in the drop down window that appears.

Step 4

Look for the  “Search for a User Profile” area and search for the person who wants their approver changed.

I think the best way is search for this person by their last name.
Step 5

In the field to the right you’ll see “Edit Profiles”   Highlight the person’s name who has the profile you want to modify.

Step 6

Click “Go” button

Step 7

Scroll down to the section called “Approval Requirements and Spending Limits”

Look for the section that says “Approver”

Step 8

Click the drop down arrow next to approver and find the right ‘approver’ and select them
If you are not seeing the name of the person you want to make the approver:

-They might not have an account set up.  Ask your site administrator if they can be set up

-The approver you are searching for might not be set up as a supervisor. Talk to your site administrator to set that user up as supervisor.

How to Remove a User From Staples Advantage

How to Allow a User to Delete Other Users From Staples Advantage

Why Do StaplesLink / Staples Advantage Have Different Prices From Staples.Com ?

Allow User to Delete on Staples Advantage Stapleslink

If you are given the rights to do so (typically your site admin that works within your company or your supervisor), you can modify a person’s profile on Staples Advantage (Stapleslink) so that they are given the rights to delete other user’s accounts.

This is pretty easy to do if you are permitted to do so.  Here’s how:

Step 1

Go ahead and log into the Staples Advantage / StaplesLink website

Step 2

Find the “My Account” link around the top of your computer screen and position your cursor on it.

Step 3

You’ll see a bunch of options in a drop down menu, choose “Manage Users”

Step 4

Under the section “Search for a User Profile” find the name of the user you want to give deletion rights to.

I think it is easiest to search for their last name. In the choose “Last Name” in the “By Name or ID” section then go ahead and type their name in the field underneath.

Step 6

Click “Go” Button

Step 7

In the field to the right you’ll see “Edit Profiles”   Make sure the name of the person is in that field and then highlight it.  If their name is not appearing, they might not be set up on the account or you may have spelled the name wrong.

If you are not sure of the spelling, you can just type part of their name. You might get multiple results. If you do get more than one name, go ahead and highlight that name.

Step 8

Scroll down to the “User Administrator Roles” Section.  If you are not seeing this section, you might not have the rights to make these changes. If you are, keep reading.

Step 9

Here you have three choices.  Choose the one you want by clicking radio button

-Cannot create, modify or delete any users (select this and this person will not be able to make changes to others on this site)

-Can create, modify or delete only his or her own associates but cannot modify any of his or her own information (select this option and the person can delete that is assigned “associate’ under their account but they cannot modify their own info.  It is kind of like saying, yes the boss can change their employees but the boss can’t change his or her own info.)

-Can create, modify and delete all users. (Make changes to anyone)

Step 10

Choose either of the last two and will be able to delete profiles from Staples Advantage.

Then click the “Save” button

Now that this user can delete another user, you'll need to explain to them just how to do it. Click Here to tell them how

That’s it!

Is Buying on Staples On Line Really "Easy"?

How Do Shredding Services Work?

Delete User on Staples Advantage Stapleslink

Deleting users on Staples Advantage (formerly Stapleslink) website is pretty easy. In order to remove a user from your Staples Advantage account you need to have your profile set up so that you have the rights to delete another user’s account.  These rights are typically managed by whoever your company has assigned within your organization as site administrator.

Here are the steps to eliminating a person’s profile so they can no longer make purchases on this website under your account.

Step 1

Log into your Staples (Advantage) account as you normally would.

Step 2

Look for “My Account” somewhere at or near the top of your computer screen and hover the cursor over it.

Step 3

In the drop down choices that appear, select “Manage Users”

Step 4

Under the section “Search for a User Profile” search for the person you want to remove. I typically do this by searching for their last name (to do this be sure “Last Name” is selected in the “By Name or ID” field and then type all or part of the person’s last name in the field below)

Click “Go”

Step 5

Then look over to the right at the “Edit User Profile Field”

-If you don’t see any name, you either typed their name wrong or they are not on the account.

-If you see multiple names be sure to highlight (click) on the name you want to delete

-If you only see one name, and it is the right one, it should already be highlighted (if not, highlight it by clicking on it)

Step  6

Hit the delete button and that person will be permanently removed from the account.

That's it!

Get Free Water Filtration Cooler Systems or Bottle Coolers

Bottleless Water Cooler
"Bottle Water Coolers" or "Bottled Coolers" are those water coolers with those big tanks or jugs on top.  If you haven't seen them at your own workplace, you may have seen them in movies where workers are standing around them gossiping about the boss or whatever.
5 Gal Jugs For "Bottle" Coolers

"Water Filtration Cooler Systems" is really just a fancy way of saying water cooler  that do not have the bottle on top of them.  Don't mistake these water coolers for those old junky, metal water fountains you'd find down the hall of some hospital or bus stop. These coolers look just like the coolers with bottles described above but they, of course, have no bottle. Water comes from your local plumbing but this cooler has a filter system that cleans the water.

There are ways to get these bottle and bottleless fountains for free.  We'll sort of....

The ones with the jug on top you can definitely get for free or for very little rent if you drink lot of water.  Keep this in mind if you are buying these on behalf of a  company or  institution (maybe even your home ) where you are using a lot of water bottles.  If you plan use a lot of water bottles, shop around and ask local bottled water companies how many bottles a month will you need to buy in order to get a cooler unit or units at no charge.  Their money is made by you drinking water and paying by the bottle. They are in the business of selling bottled water. They might 'give' you the fountain in exchange for knowing you'll buy  a lot of water fromthem. If plan to purchase jugs frequently, ask them upfront if you can get a unit for free (no rent).  You might get lucky and get one at no charge versus buying one or paying rent.

Bottleless filtration systems... OK, I might be lying when I say you can get these for 'free.'  Bottless water filtration coolers you will never truly get at no charge. Companies that provide this equipment make a profit both selling and renting these units.  That said, renting one might be the better alternative to spending a lot of money upfront to buy.

Is free possible? Maybe. If you are a charitable institution, a poor school or some organization that can generate  some public sympathy, you might be able to get the cooler company to waive the charges if they can get some good PR (public relations) out of it.  I can't promise this though.

No charge or not, before you go and spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars up front for this type of water fountain, check into renting first. You might be able to rent at a fraction of the cost of purchasing.

If you are going to need multiple fountains, negotiate the rent to a lower price.  Also try to get the installation charge for free and see if they will do the filter changes for free. Make sure any service charges come at no charge.  Negotiate, negotiate. Don't be afraid to ask.

Need some help with negotiating?  Here are some tips to keep in mind

So, OK, which is better to buy or rent or whatever? Is a bottless cooler better than a bottle cooler?  I wrote an article on the topic and linked it here. I have a lot of experience with both types of water systems. Check it out and see what is right for you to have in your home or office

Black Particle Pieces on Office Floor Rug Mat - Need Wheels For Chair

For weeks I notice that the rug on my office floor and the chair mat that protects the rug was getting littered with these mysterious little black pieces.   These little black marks are pliable, soft, and light.  Every day they would appear on the floor and then by morning they would disappear.

The disappeared each night because the maintenance team would vacuum my floor and they'd be gone.  It wasn't until the janitor asked me, "Hey, what are those little things

What Are These Small Black Particles on the Ground ?

We'll, it turns out they pieces off the caster wheels on my chair.  I really like the chair I have in my office and it was pretty expensive so I have decided to keep using this chair until it is not longer comfortable or until it simply won't work anymore.  I have had the chair for years. The chair has held up great but the caster wheels over time, just like tires on a car, must have simply worn out.

Are All The Office Chair Wheels Shedding Tread?

Actually no, some are in good shape but two wheels are shedding little black pieces. One is real bad.

Is it Time to Buy a New Office Chair?

No. The office chair is in great shape.  If your chair is in good shape don't by a new office chair, just get new wheels for your chair.  Chair wheels are referred to as "caster" wheels. Casters can differ in quality and size but they all allow you chair to roll in any direction.

Where Can I Buy New Caster Wheels for My Office Chair

Just about any office supply store will carry casters or they can get them for you.

What Do I Need to Know Before Ordering Casters?  Can I Install Them Myself

Casters are pretty easy to replace.  I wrote an article on this topic and linked it below. Check it out.

What Is a CVV2 Number - Find On Credit Card?

I'm sure that non- user friendly credit card terms drive you crazy.  I mean, who in their right mind wants to look up the meaning of every word related to credit cards, credit card terms and conditions, interest rates, penalties, late fees, etc.

So, recently when buying something with my credit card on line I was asked for my CVV2 number.  What the heck is a CVV2 number anyway?

Well, it turns out it is that little three digit security code on the back of your card.  Why didn't they just say "the three digit security code on the back of your card" ?  You got me. Regardless, it means the same thing.

Anyway, next time someone asks you for the CVV2 number, that is what it is. You find it right on the back of your card.

CVV by the way means "Card Verification Value"  Makes sense right? Not.  LOL

Why Coupons Might Be Better to Buy Than Unwanted Gift Cards Online

There are some ways of saving money by spending money.  Two ways are:

1. Buy Unwanted Gift Cards or a Gift Card at discount on line

2. Buy Coupons on line

If you buy a gift card at discount online you are buying the value of that card.  Your motivation is to buy a gift card for less than what the value is. If you buy a $100 gift card for $95, you will save $5 when you spend the whole card.  You typically will need to do this on sites like Ebay where people are selling unwanted gift cards for less than what they are worth.  They want the cash, you want the value of the card.

If you buy a coupon online, you are paying for the discount you get on the coupon.  If you spend $.50 on a $10 coupon, you'll wind up saving $9.50 on the product you bought the coupon for.

Why Buy Coupons?

Why? You buy a coupon when you, 1) know you are going to make a purchase in near future 2) you have no coupons available to you at home for this purchase 3) you see the coupon on line and wish to buy it, knowing that you will save more money than if you did not have it.

Which is Better.... A Coupon or Gift Certificate

It really depends but if you can buy a coupon that has the same value as the gift certificate, you are better off buying the coupon for one good reason..... the coupon is typically cheaper. Way cheaper.

I've seen $100 gift certificates sell for $80.   I've seen 20% off coupons sell for less than a dollar.   With the $100 gift certificate you buy on Ebay for $80, you save 20% ($100 - $80 = $20 or 20% discount)  when you spend the entire $100 on the card. The card.   If you buy a 20% off coupon for $1, all things being equal, you can get the same $20 off $100 for only $1.

If you never use the coupon or lose it, you are only out $1.  If you never use the gift card or lose it, you are out $80.

Not that it is always possible to find coupons that discount the same products as gift cards.  Often coupons have pesky disclaimers that gift cards do not.  For the most part, gift cards can be treated as cash .  They can also be sold as cash too (that's another story)

Coupons are discounts but come with lots of rules. They are not cash.

In essence, all things being equal, you can get a greater discount, with less cash outlay on a coupon than you ever would if you bought a gift certificate.
