Hi! The Phrygian scale (also incorrectly spelled frigian or frigion ) is one of the fundamental scales in music. Read on to learn how to learn to play Phrygian scale lesson on bass guitar

Instructions

    • 1

      For this entire lesson, I'll focus strictly on all of the 'natural' (no flats or sharps) notes along the phrygian scale with no open strings. Specifically E phrygian . Keep in mind this scale can be played in the same pattern anywhere on the bass guitar neck . For E phrygian scale, start by playing the E which is the 7th fret on the A (second) string

      Then using your middle finger, play the F, which is located on the 8th fret, on the A string

      Then using your pinkie finger, play the G, which is located on the 10th fret, on the A string of the bass guitar.

      Next, move to the D string of your guitar (third string down). Using your your index finger, play the A, which is located on the 7th fret of the D string of the bass guitar.

      Then, using your ring finger,play the B, which is located on the 9th fret of the D string

      Then, using your pinky finger, Play the C, which is located on the 10th fret of the D string

      Then move down one more string to the G string (bottom string) on your bass guitar. With your index finger, play the D, which is located on the 7th fret, of the G string

      Then, with your ring finger, play the E which is located on the 9th fret on the G string
