The Sheet Bend Knot is one of the best ways to tie two ends of a rope together. Is a strong knot, but relatively easy to get apart when you are ready. Read on to learn how to Tie Two Ropes Together Using Sheet Bend Knot

Difficulty:
Easy

Instructions

    • 1
Take one of the ropes and turn in a loop or 'u' as shown on the white rope
    • 2
Take the other rope (the gray rope shown) and put it through the bottom of the loop and out the top
    • 3
After coming out of the top of the loop, wrap it under the loop (under your hand) and bring around as shown to the other side of the loop.
    • 4
After coming out of the top of the loop, wrap it under the loop (under your hand) and bring around as shown to the other side of the loop.
    • 5
Once you've brought the rope under the loop to the other side, run it down into the loop again as shown
    • 6
Now, this part is real, real important to making a good quality sheet bend. After you bring the end of the rope back into the loop as shown in step above, bring the rope under itself on the other side of the loop, then over the other rope. See it in the photo? Very important. If I fail this part, I just wind up with a lousy square knot :-)

      Then pull tight.
